Up And At 'Em, Tender Warriors

"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).

Nothing can replace deep, authentic relationships among men. That's because true manhood involves balance between two opposing poles. I call the authentic man a Tender Warrior. Miss the "tender," and you have Attilla the Hun. Miss the "warrior," and you have Peewee Herman.

True manhood is tough. Steady. Rock solid.

These men do the heavy lifting of a culture sqaurely perched upon a rock that will never be moved. "All flesh is as grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field...but the Word of our God will stand forever" (Isaiah 40:6-8). A generation of men will rise, flex their muscles, then descend into the dust. But Biblical, pure, passionate masculinity will forever be a potent ingredient in God's plan for Planet Earth.

O Father in Heaven,

Would you be pleased to equip your church to produce a million Tender Warriors? Would you forge in the Fellowship and through trials a Band of Brothers ready to fight shoulder to shoulder against a Vile Foe who would ravish our souls, our wives, our children? Would you raise up a generation of humble, confident, strapping young Knights who hold to a Code of principled obedience to the Great Lord? May your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give orders to your Tender Warriors.
